Create in me a clean heart, O God, and put a new and right spirit within me. Do not cast me away from
your presence, and do not take your holy spirit from me. Restore to me the joy of your salvation and sustain in me a willing spirit. - Psalm 51:10-12
MISSION & PURPOSE
The mission of the African Methodist Episcopal (AME) Church is to minister to the spiritual, intellectual, emotional and physical needs of ALL PEOPLE by spreading Christ's LIBERATING Gospel through word and deed. At every level of the connection and in every local church, the AME church shall engage in carrying out the spirit of the Free African Society out of which the AME Church evolved: that is, to seek out and save the lost and serve the needy through a continuing program of (1) preaching the gospel; (2) feeding the hungry; (3) clothing the naked; (4) housing the homeless; (5) cheering the fallen; (6) providing jobs for the jobless; (7) administering to the needs of those in prisons, hospitals, nursing homes, asylums, senior citizens' homes; caring for the sick, the shut-in, the mentally and socially disturbed; and (8) encouraging thrift and economic advancement.

Do you believe in the power of prayer? Have you prayed about your burdens and your dreams? We KNOW for ourselves what prayer can do. Studies show that prayer really does change things. But at Beth-El we don't have to rely on what someone else has told us. . . We have seen the sick get well, we have seen broken relationships mended, we have seen people who were addicted find hope and a path towards recovery, we have seen the lost soul found and saved, we have seen God open doors that were shut in our faces.
